Here’s how your feedback makes a difference

Introducing our Family Experience Awards

Did you know that your voice is helping to make Curiosity Tree an amazing place for families, children and educators alike?

Your feedback helps us to create warm, welcoming environments that you can trust and where you feel heard. It helps us to personalise our care and create the best environments for your child to grow and learn in.

And now, your feedback is helping us to celebrate our educators’ amazing efforts, too, with our new Family Experience Awards!

What are the Family Experience Awards?

As our families move through their Curiosity Tree journeys, from when we first welcome their little ones to when we eventually say our goodbyes, they are invited to share their feedback with us in person and through surveys.

These surveys are intended to give families the opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences with us – whether that’s simply sharing stories, expressing gratitude, offering suggestions or raising concerns.

Often, it’s not always easy for families to share their feedback in person, and our surveys aim to overcome that challenge, providing another communication pathway between our families and educators.

We realised that the feedback we were getting through these surveys wasn’t only useful to us in helping to connect with our families, inform our everyday practices and improve our centre. It was also giving us more reasons to celebrate our amazing people!

That’s why we’ve decided to use the feedback from our family surveys to award one monthly Family Experience Hero Award and one Family Experience Team Award every month in each of our centres.

One award celebrates an individual and the other a team who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to our families and the children in their care.

Why are these awards so important to us?

We want our educators to know that they are truly valued, and that what they do every day in their careers as early childhood educators is hugely important and appreciated.

As Centre Manager Jan from Morayfield said, “The best thing about these awards is that although it is our company providing the award, the feedback comes from our families, and I feel that this makes it so much more meaningful for our educators and staff.”

Group Manager, Sophie agreed: “Not only do the Family Experience Awards recognise the hard work put in by our individuals and the teams, but they also highlight how early education is uniquely formatted around customer service through love, education and passion,” she said.

On top of the immensely important task of caring for the children and supporting their development, on any given day our educators and support teams will be welcoming and liaising with families, observing and documenting each child’s progress and activities for the day, creating opportunities for incidental learning, setting up activities, planning their curriculum, completing required paperwork, cleaning up, and so much more.

Admiring and thanking them for all of their work – which sometimes can feel like for the educator that it goes unnoticed – is really important to us.

And we’re happy to report that our teams are loving the awards, too.

“Receiving The Family Experience Award not only makes me feel accepted within our family community, but has shown me that families do appreciate my efforts in making them feel supported and welcomed,” said Thea, educator at Curiosity The Gap.

“Although our staff go above and beyond for our families every day and don’t expect any reward, knowing that what they do really does matter to our families and is acknowledged means a lot,” The Gap Centre Manager Claudia said.

“Being acknowledged and appreciated by the families for the effort you put in to nurture and support their precious little ones to develop and grow has really made my day. Life is so busy for young families now, so the fact they have taken the time to provide positive feedback makes me feel proud of the job I do,” said educator at Curiosity Tree Morayfield Liz.

Join us on celebrating our people

Does your little one rave about their educator? Has a Curiosity Tree team member gone above and beyond for you and your child? We’d love for you to let us know in our family surveys, so we can continue to encourage and show our support for our teams.

Be sure to keep an eye on your email inbox for our family feedback surveys, as we provide them as you first come on board with Curiosity Tree, as soon as you child transition rooms, every 60 days and when you leave Curiosity Tree.

Of course, you can also contact your centre manager at any time if you have any questions or suggestions. We always love hearing from you.

So, what are some of the things our families have said?

We thought we’d leave you with the warm fuzzies. Here’s to our amazing teams!

“The centre isn’t just a centre – it’s a family that cares and loves.”

“If we drive by the centre on my grandson’s days off, he will yell out ‘daycare, daycare!’ The proof is in his voice that at this point in time he loves it, which gives me peace of mind that I have made the right choice for him to attend there.”

“Thank you for caring for my little boy and providing him the opportunity to explore his environments.”

“The staff are simply wonderful. Approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing is too much trouble. They obviously love what they do and the kids are besotted with the educators too. I’m so very comfortable dropping my baby to them.”

If you have any questions or feedback about Curiosity Tree, please get in touch with us today! We look forward to hearing from you.
